Accountant / Bookkeeper

Responsibilities – Client Accounting Services (CAS)

Recurring Activities:

  • Responding promptly to client emails and phone calls
  • Downloading banking information into Quickbooks Online
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements
  • Scanning or copying documents
  • Preparing payroll tax forms 941, 940 and TWC
  • Organizing working papers in accordance with firm’s guidelines
  • Proactive communication with clients by phone and email
  • Researching and analyzing data entry errors and making corrections
  • Calculating, creating and posting journal entries into Quickbooks or other client software

Ideal candidate will have experience with Quickbooks Online and/or Quickbooks Desktop, Microsoft Windows10 and Office365, Excel, Word, Asana, Square, Gmail and Internet; and have:

Hands-on experience with:

  • Payroll computations and preparation of quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns
  • Sales tax computations and preparation of related tax returns
  • Property tax return preparation
  • Bank account and credit card reconciliations
  • Quickbooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop

Experience in the following industries is preferred, but not required:

  • Auto sales or auto service
  • Construction trades
  • Manufacturing
  • Trucking
  • Nonprofit

  • Real Estate
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Towing
  • Valet services

Spanish proficiency is useful, but not required.

Tax Preparer / CPA or EA

Responsibilities – Federal and State Income Tax Preparation

Minimum Qualifications – CPA or EA credential OR six years relevant experience

Recurring Activities:

  • Responding promptly to client emails and phone calls
  • Preparing federal tax forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065 and 990 series
  • Preparing Texas Franchise Tax Returns and tax returns from other states
  • Organizing working papers in accordance with firm’s guidelines
  • Proactive communication with clients by phone and email
  • Researching and analyzing data entry errors and making corrections
  • Calculating and creating year end journal entries

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Intuit ProConnect, Quickbooks Online and/or Desktop, Microsoft Windows10 and Office365, Excel, Word, Asana, Square, Gmail and Internet; as well as hands-on experience with:

  • Managing multiple tax return due dates
  • Handling multiple clients
  • Communicating with IRS and other tax agencies
  • Evaluating alternative tax treatments
  • Developing tax reduction strategies
  • Resolving tax penalties

Experience in the following industries is preferred, but not required:

  • Auto sales or auto service
  • Construction trades
  • Manufacturing
  • Trucking
  • Nonprofit

  • Real Estate
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Towing
  • Valet services
